Keavil House Hotel & The Grant Arms Hotel
We travel north to the village of Crossford, two miles west of Scotland’s ancient capital Dunfermline for an overnight stop at Keavil House Hotel. The following morning we continue our journey north to the heart of the Scottish Highlands to the town of Grantown-on-Spey, set on the River Spey and on the northern edge of the Cairngorms National Park. It has many historic buildings, a tree lined square and striking Georgian and Victorian architecture. We stay five nights at the Grant arms Hotel with a further night being spent at Keavil House on our return journey home. The 4* Keavil House Hotel is an historic country hotel with impressive leisure club, situated in its own wooded grounds and garden in the village of Crossford, Dunfermline. The 3* Grant arms Hotel is a handsome stone built building in the fine country town of Grantown-on-Spey, the hotel has been continually upgraded to offer modern comforts whilst retaining a traditional character.

Sunday
We travel north to Dunfermline for an overnight stay at Keavil House Hotel, whilst here enjoy the excellent leisure facilities on offer.
Monday
Sit back, relax and enjoy a wonderful scenic journey north to Grantown-on-Spey. On route we make a stop at Braemar, famous for its ‘Highland Gathering’, before continuing to the highlight of the day, a visit to stunning Balmoral Castle and estate, Scottish home to the Royal Family, we also call at Crathie Church which the Royal family visit when in residence.
Tuesday
Free to relax and enjoy Grantown-on-Spey and the local area.
Wednesday
We travel to Inverness, the bustling capital of the Highlands and first enjoy a leisurely three hour Loch Ness cruise aboard the Jacobite Queen. We sail through the historic Caledonian Canal – an amazing feat of 19th century engineering, enjoy stunning views of Urquhart Castle’s historic ruins, look for hidden happenings beneath the water on Loch Ness with the Jacobite sonar. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy Inverness.
Thursday
This morning we travel to the seaside town of Nairn where you have some free time before we continue to Elgin for a visit to Johnstons Cashmere Heritage Centre. Johnstons is the only mill in Scotland to transform cashmere fibre into the luxurious finished article, a mill tour is included. We continue to Fochabers and the Baxters Highland Village with its speciality shops and products.
Friday
Today we are in beautiful Speyside known as Whisky country we first visit Speyside Cooperage, and see coopers at work, using traditional methods and tools. We go on to Ballindalloch Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in the country, before continuing on to Glenlivet Distillery for a fascinating tour and tasting.
Saturday
This morning we say Goodbye to Grantown-on-Spey and make our way back to Dunfermline. On route we stop in the Central Scottish Highlands and visit lovely Blair Castle, the ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl. With its roots in the 13th century, Blair Castle’s history is extensive and the property boasts fine collections to discover as well as beautiful gardens. We continue on to enjoy the vista from Queens View, this spectacular view was one of Queen Victoria’s favourite beauty spots. We spend our last night in Scotland back at Keavil House in Dunfermline.
